Like an April snow flake falling on warm bare ground, the 2014-2015 season came and left in the blink of an eye. With the exception of wearing a Great Ski Race T-shirt now and again, most of us will not otherwise spend much time contemplating TNSAR before the start of the 2015-2016 season on October 5th at the Granlibakken ski hut. Not so for the hard working 24x7 TNSAR Executive Officers, whose incarnation after the May voting season is as follows:

President:  Chris McConnell
Vice-President:  Paul Honeywell
Director:  Troy Corliss
Director:  Scott Meyer
Director:  Geoff Quine
Director:  Matt Jacobs
Secretary:  Joanna Wright

Congratulations to both nominees and winners. Also announced at the May meeting was the Member - or shall we say Members - of the Year for the 2014-2015 season, Doug Read and Dirk Schoonmaker. Repeat performers (1992-1993 and 2001-2002 respectively), Doug and Dirk personify the strength of TNSAR, volunteering to and for their community, year after year after year. Kudos Doug and Dirk.

Note that all the trainings, search reports, and newsletter from any particular season (past or present) are under the "Archives" menu drop down at the top of any page.

TNSAR has a wealth of pictures, taken mostly from trainings. If any pictures were taken on a training, you will find them under the annual training archives (see the drop down menu at the top) for that particular training (note that Internet Explorer does not [yet] display these pictures; yet another reason to try a web browser other than IE). Additionally, you can also look at all the organized pictures on one page.

TNSAR is always looking for fresh faces and new enthusiasm. We are a team of broad roles, interests and needs, to include but not limited to:

  • Searchers (skiers and sledders)
  • Comm Van personnel
  • Truck caretakers
  • Administrative
  • Public Relations
  • Grant and Donation management
  • WWW management
  • TGSR (the list here is endless)

If you are interested in any of these types of roles, or generally interested in TNSAR, please show up at the next general meeting to get your questions answered. The majority of the team representatives are not searchers; we have a variety of needs and seats for all. Come check us out!
