February, from the Latin word Februarius, means to purify, and we all need to cleanse ourselves of some COVID-now-21 negativity.
TNSAR is here to help (that's true). The TNSAR birthstone is amethyst (that's not true), the birthstone of February, a purple variety
of quartz which ancient Greeks believed protected the wearer from drunkenness. So bring your quartz and cocktail to the fifth
zoom (password tnsar) virtual meeting
of the 2020-2021 season on Monday Feb 1st at 7:00PM, to see if some tarnished amethyst can withstand COVID-19 exhaustion and inebriation.
The TNSAR Board of Directors has provided this guidance
to review procedures and update the TNSAR team on the COVID-19 situation as it relates to SAR
activities. It is important to stay grounded and informed in these uncertain times. Please
contact any board member should you
have questions or concerns.
The TNSAR Board of Directors has also posted a
Community Message regarding backcountry travel that we strongly encourage anyone
pondering back country adventures to read and contemplate.

In 2018 TNSAR applied for and was awarded Agency Partnership status with the Truckee Tahoe Airport District.
The Truckee Tahoe Airport District is furthering its mission, which is to provide a high level of benefit and value to all
Airport District constituents. Through this policy, Agency Partnerships Funds are set aside to partner with another public
agency and or taxing agency, town, county, or local government where a specific defined airport benefit to mutual District/agency
constituents, direct airport benefits, improvement of District property, shared equipment, and/or enhanced safety is realized.
TNSAR and TTAD have embarked on a 20 year partnership agreement which includes the acquisition of the Pisten Bully 100 snow cat
and the rollaway truck hauler.
Note that all the trainings, search reports, and newsletter from any particular season
