The 2017-2018 season is underway next Month, October 2nd, starting at 6:30 at the Granlibakken ski hut. Come by to heckle Chris, now lurking in the back row, while offering a one month reprieve to Devin before his heckling will begin.

Often times there is food at the first meeting, always there is beer.

But first, don't forget the TNSAR fundraiser at Alpenglow Sports Thursday (Sept 21) night; Mountaineers Books author Bree Loewen will present her book Found: A life in Mountain Rescue. Admission to the show is $7. Doors open at 6:30PM, show starts at 7PM. There will be Sierra Nevada beer available for your enjoyment and all donations will benefit the team.

Trainings will start appearing soon, so be on the lookout.

Note that all the trainings, search reports, and newsletter from any particular season (past or present) are under the "Archives" menu drop down at the top of any page.

TNSAR has a wealth of pictures, taken mostly from trainings. If any pictures were taken on a training, you will find them under the annual training archives (see the drop down menu at the top) for that particular training (note that Internet Explorer does not [yet] display these pictures; yet another reason to try a web browser other than IE). Additionally, you can also look at all the organized pictures on one page.

TNSAR is always looking for fresh faces and new enthusiasm. We are a team of broad roles, interests and needs, to include but not limited to:

  • Searchers (skiers and sledders)
  • Comm Van personnel
  • Truck caretakers
  • Administrative
  • Public Relations
  • Grant and Donation management
  • WWW management
  • TGSR (the list here is endless)

If you are interested in any of these types of roles, or generally interested in TNSAR, please show up at the next general meeting to get your questions answered. The majority of the team representatives are not searchers; we have a variety of needs and seats for all. Come check us out!
