Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue, Inc

The 2016-2017 season is now in the record books - for what records we know not. But we do know that for the 2017-2018 season TNSAR will be in very good hands with the following folks rounding out the executive staff:

President - Devin Hiemstra
V.P. - Matt Jacobs
Secretary - Joanna Wright
Treasurer - Scott Schroepfer
Board of Directors
Geoff Quine   Andrew Osterreicher   Paul Kitano   Scott Meyer

Congratulations to the newest incoming members, as well as to all those who were nominated for the different positions.

Of course new incoming members always implies some are on their way out - or, more accurately, they will now take their place back in the peanut gallery on those Monday evenings when the controlled mayhem masquerades as a serious team meeting. The newest member of the peanut gallery is one Chris McConell; there's much that can be said about Chris's leadership during

While summer trainings are few and far between (please refer to the N in TNSAR), they still happen, so be on the lookout.

Note that all the trainings, search reports, and newsletter from any particular season (past or present) are under the "Archives" menu drop down at the top of any page.

TNSAR has a wealth of pictures, taken mostly from trainings. If any pictures were taken on a training, you will find them under the annual training archives (see the drop down menu at the top) for that particular training (note that Internet Explorer does not [yet] display these pictures; yet another reason to try a web browser other than IE). Additionally, you can also look at all the organized pictures on one page.

TNSAR is always looking for fresh faces and new enthusiasm. We are a team of broad roles, interests and needs, to include but not limited to:

  • Searchers (skiers and sledders)
  • Comm Van personnel
  • Truck caretakers
  • Administrative
  • Public Relations
  • Grant and Donation management
  • WWW management
  • TGSR (the list here is endless)

If you are interested in any of these types of roles, or generally interested in TNSAR, please show up at the next general meeting to get your questions answered. The majority of the team representatives are not searchers; we have a variety of needs and seats for all. Come check us out!

Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue is proud to have been chosen the Non-Profit Organization of the year from the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association for 2015.
