At 12:05 Am TNSAR was dispatched for 3 skiers who had left Donner Summit earlier in the day to ski to Squaw Valley, but had not arrived. Very little information was available from the RP, who was supposed to have been picked up in Squaw in the afternoon. A 4pm text had said they would be 2 hours late getting to Squaw. 4 skiers (Russ, Paul C., Bernie, Dirk) got a ride in the troop carrier to the top of Granite Chief. Scott Baumgartner stood by at base to facilitate, with Kathy and John in the Comm Van. Bernie did a strong job leading the team out the bowl/ridge to Mountain Meadow Lake. As the team was about to head north from there, the RP got another text saying the skiers were heading back north to Donner Summit and to call off the search. Unknown how far south they had gotten. Team skied back to bottom of Granite Chief and got groomer lift to top of Shirley, skied 4\ powder to base. Out at 6:00. PCSO reported 4 (!) skiers arrived at Donner Summit.
