Sunday Oct 27. Two elderly hikers have lunch at Shirley Lake and lose the trail on the way back down to Squaw Valley. About 3:30 pm TNSAR is dispatched, while on a cancelled search for an EPIRB activation for a motorcyclist near Miller Lake. 2 motorcyclist, one ATV and 4 Hikers respond to Squaw. An accurate GPS position is determined via phone conversation and team members head out. As they are deploying, the command post receives a call from Team Member Matt Jacobs, who is on a recreational hike near Mountain Meadows Lake. He is given the coordinates and heads in the direction of the distressed party. At 4:50 Matt reaches the victims and at 5:10 the 4 searchers on foot reach Matt and the victims. All parties are back at the command Post at 6:03 pm.
